The Storyteller.

“'It is never too late to be what you might have been.”
– George Eliot

Johnny M. Guerra is a Mexican-American writer, word explorer, and storyteller from the San Francisco Peninsula. His upbringing infused him with a deep fascination for writing, cinema, literature, pop culture, and being a Swiftie. Since his early years, he has been intrigued by the immense power of words and their ability to create a kaleidoscope of emotions. Because of this, Johnny is particularly captivated by Taylor Swift's skill in intricately crafting eloquent lyrical compositions, recognizing her as a fellow wordsmith and pulling inspiration from artists like her.

Earning a BA in Communications from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2006, Johnny boasts a diverse writing portfolio that encompasses contributions to two books, along with short stories, poems, and screenplays. In 2021, he wrote his directorial debut with the short film The Cherry on Top, bringing the nostalgic charm of the 1950s and the intriguing mystery of the roaring twenties with An Era of Fallen Stars. In 2023, Johnny began writing his children’s literature book debut, featuring a lovable character that aims to inspire young minds, nurture their leadership skills, and encourage them to recognize their potential through the power of words.

Drawing inspiration from his Latino heritage, Johnny is crafting a fantasy adventure story where the enchantment of faith, family, fate, and folklore seamlessly weave together. He aims to depict his culture in a manner that captures the magical realism that he has always perceived Mexico to be and the campfire stories his family told him about.

Currently, he persists in refining his writing prowess by crafting short stories inspired by a diverse array of photo prompts, chosen either randomly or selectively, and adding them to From Eye to Ink, a platform of which he is a co-founder. The platform also welcomes submissions from other writers, fostering a collaborative creative community.
